aww - you are so sweet! thanks so much for the message. you are the first person to write to me.

i am 29 years old and was very fortunate to land a well-paying job after graduating college that allows me to travel & maintain a modest lifestyle. i’ve always been a very curious person. the most interesting, successful, & happy people i met were people who read a lot, had traveled, seen things, done things, etc. - they were active and engaged in the world. i was resolved to do the same when i had the money & opportunity, so i did. i guess i could have more money in the bank, but i value experiences more than i value “stuff.”

where do I want to retire? i don’t know. i want to be near my kids and grandkids. (bear in mind, i don’t have any children, nor am i married or dating anyone - lol!)

i’ll be wearing my england jersey for the game on saturday. my football/soccer loyalties lie with england and not america ;)

i haven’t had a chance to go through you blog in detail, but i saw “singin DOO AH DIDDY DIDDY-DUM DIDDY-DO“ and it is hilarious. what inspires you to blog? how old are you and where do you live?

sometimes i start to feel really thin. then, I stop getting on facebook for like a week and I feel all better again. :) i've been doing a shit job at taking pictures. its that same thin feeling except apparently this one lasts more than a week. yikes. christmas spirit has been lacking this year. not really excited about much. {maybe something to do with a recent break up of what I thought was going to be a really fun relationship and it just went down the crapper ? One of the hardest things to do is breakin up with someone without one specific REASON, just that, you know its for the better. You know that you're being worked over and as much as you want to stay in it and remember what it used to be like because you know how much fun it could be and you WANT it to be, but its not anymore. And quite frankly the other voice in the relationship doesn't give you one sliver of a feeling that they want the same thing too. Why did he do that?! How come you lead me to believe....? ...

Try writing for fun. (!)

 So, "why is it so hard to live a disciplined life when it feels so good?"  Is the simple question I throw into the living room Monday evening at 9P. To be fair, I am making the time all too late in the day to address my homework which includes "Think of a time you were living as the best version of yourself and note the values I was living at that time". The prompt naturally turned me off because if only it were that simple - I mean, you can see where this is going. Think of a time when were you most happy. Consider what were the values were you honoring at that time. Write those down and consider how you can live those more in your current life, aka - now just do that! However, despite the annoyance of the exercise, it became overshadowed by an emerging sense of gratification and fulfillment. Why? Spending time to answer those (annoying and somewhat predictable) questions was actually quite fulfilling.  Not in the sense of the question itself or the intended outco...

The boys went hunting again this year up in BC (this little chicklet didn't get to make the trip par lack of employment... UGH, as if just the mere fact of being unemployed wasn't enough, you miss out on trips to BC to go moose hunting with your dad, brother and old neighbor Meyer! The TOTAL DOMINATION job is around the corner! I just know it, I just know it!! ) MOVING ON :) So what do you do with two GIANT moose? Why bring them home in the back of the truck and cut them up into yummy meaty pieces in the shop of course! Mom and Bradley did the majority of the hamburger-ing after the boys had quartered all the pieces up, but this particular scene Dad and I are dabbling in the grinding process and our batch Dad decided to mix with, wait for it... look left, look right... BACON! wow.
