summer.

a beautiful meshing of a wedding/season video showcasing life, its beauty and growth. i can't help but get choked up every time I watch it. I love the way the editors highlight all the right pieces making us feel like we're there always but without letting in on the full moment. Snippets of beauty that teach us it's not in the big acts or long anticipated moments, but in the tiny unexpected pieces that make up a sense of happiness that no one can touch or see, rather, we have to feel. Now that's good movie making ;)

Do you accept the challenge?

Go ahead. I dare you to not think for yourself, to follow the norm, and work as society implies is best. In all that you do.

I dare you to give up your personality, your right, your individuality and all that makes this world interesting and ever changing.
I dare you to count yourself unworthy and uninteresting - to say it is someone else’s business and that you don’t know how.
I dare you to act as a passerby unaware of your personal potential.
I dare you to be mute, only tapping in to what the world tells us, to ignore mother nature and your inner human instinct.
I dare you to take your hatred for high school classes and teachers out on your intellectual development as a society contributing adult.
I dare you to make the rash assumption now that grades are a thing of the past you have no one to answer to.
I dare you to ignore the voice you’ve done so well at demanding to be quiet - to convince yourself that you don’t care, aren’t interested, and curiosity for all things is “dorky”.
I dare you to give up.
Or rather, I dare you, to be.

You've got to have a sense of humor if you want to get out alive.

Flying the inaugural flight for Boeing's newest airplane certainly doesn't mean you have to take EVERYTHING seriously.

May I present to you exhibit A:

My Dad is the COOLEST guy I know :-)

Look at that grin! Look at that beast of a chainsaw and excavator! And he let's us play with those toys when we visit home! And you know what, if you went to say hi I bet he would let you play with them too!!!! :)

Did you also see their partner in crime in the lower part of the frame with the fire? That's Buster dog and he makes a perfect trio with Mom and Dad :)

What do you say!? Want to go play in their woods riding four wheelers and building fires all day? Who's with me!?!? LET'S GO!!!!

Things I think I would like to do soon.

1. Go fishing. Or at least cast a few lines to revel in the feeling of that swoosh and snap. To hear it, completely blocking out all the other noises, focused entirely on the feel eyes set on point knowing that my fly will land exactly where I want it to.
2. Rock my mountain bike. Hit a trail that has my eyes watering as I pick up speed, going so fast that if I could, I would pee my pants. Then it's time to stop, slurp some water and shove a bar down my throat. Kick back into gear and hammer down, hands aching, back covered with sweat.

I asked, but they didn't say why!

I was out on a walk the other evening because for the first time in ages, I felt like going for a walk :) All that awesomeness aside, the evening got stellar when I came across these 3 fellas! At first just lingering on the street corner like a few lost homeless people, the Great White took the lead across the road. Soon to follow at first in random patterns, is Blacky. And at this point I could hardly contain my excitement. COME ON PEACHES YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO GO!!!!

and, he did. perfectly.
